I got this Mom!

Saturday we went to my moms work for a fundraiser. They have an awesome playground for kids there! I was so proud of Travis because he actually went through a tunnel and down a tunnel slide. He was always so nervous about tunnels. He made a friend at the playground and I guess he realized if he wanted to keep up with her he would have to use the tunnel. :) I was so proud!

Cool sandbox

Not the most graceful exit!

"IceCream Store"

Friday I took some time to myself and went to the mall ALL ALONE after work. And let me say it was amazing! I was able to use some of my birthday money and get some work clothes.

When I came home Steve had done all the laundry and cleaned the house. So awesome!! After dinner my night got even better. We tried out the new icecream shop up the street. By the Scoop has homemade ice cream, dessert and waffle cones. They had berger cookie, tasteycake, twix and about 15 other flavors. It is set up like a 1950's icecream parlor and even has little tables and chairs for the kids. The entire back wall is covered with a chalkboard for the kids to write on. Travis kept saying "IceCream IceCream sooooo good!" He also told us he was at the "IceCream Store." This is going to be a favorite spot for the summer.

Sunny Days....chasing the clouds away....

The weather here is so crazy. One day it is 90 degrees the next day it is cold and rainy. Yesterday was freezing and raining. We went to Storyville at the library for about an hour last night before dinner.

Today it a little chilly but we were still able to play outside Travis had spent all day at the park with his daddy. When I got home we went to explore the backyard. Travis loves it out back. I feel kind of bad because I don't really have any fun toys out back.....but Travis really doesn't mind. He likes to run and pick 'flowers' (dandilions) and play with his best buddy Jake.

I have an old fashioned wizard of oz cellar doors in the back that need to be painted ;/ But Travis was practicing running up and down the hill.

This is my sad little garden....I am not sure what to do with it. I used to have bushes lining the back fence but the blizzard a couple of years ago really destroyed them. So we ripped them out and now I am left with this

Travis sat of Steve's bike . He thought it was so cool.

Goals

My friend Kristen started a '30 before 30' list last June when she turned 29. Basically just a list of things that she would like to accomplish before she turned 30. I decided to try it out since I turned 29 last month.  I only have 21 things so far so suggestions are welcome. Some of the things I have recently completed so they are crossed off. Others are ongoing, everyday things that I need to work on. Some are just silly things that I should probably already be doing......

30 before 30
1.)    Try to accept people for who they are
2.)    Visit the gym at least twice a week
3.)    Make healthier food choices
4.)    Read more books
5.)    Try new recipes
6.)    Start a blog
7.)    Grow out my nails
8.)    More  date nights with Steve
9.)    Arrange more play dates with Travis
10.) Video tape more moments with Travis
11.) Go to Disney- (August 2011 ALREADY BOOKED!)
12.) Plan a girls night out once every couple months
13.) Have the best garden on the block next spring
14.) Take day trips as a family
15.) Start new traditions
16.) Stay offline until after Travis goes to sleep
17.) Eat at Fugo de Chao
18.) Go to the Washington zoo
19.)  Visit Assateauge Island
20.) Visit the statue of liberty
21.) Make my spare bedroom a playroom for Travis
22.) Set aside "me" time an hour a week

* Also I will post stories and pictures as I complete things off my list...or atleast that is my goal ;)

Dinner Date

We are loving all of the nice weather lately! Travis asked if we could eat outside last night. Since it was just him and I for dinner we made mini pizza's on english muffins. With the weather being so nice I really don't feel like cooking. I need some more quick dinner ideas.

Yummy!

Of course Jake is waiting for Travis to feed him!

He was saying 'CHEESE'...with a mouth full of pizza ;)

Animal Crackers for dessert. He likes to look at all of them first.
Also Travis is starting this new thing where he does something bad then immediantly says "SORRY! SORRY MOMMA!" and pats me on my head or arm. LOL!! Cracks me up everytime.

Cuteness!

After a stressful day at work I can always count on Travis to make me laugh.

Yesterday was no exception. I came home to him trying on all of my husbands hats. He would put a hat on and then run into my closet to look at himself in the full length mirror. Once he saw himself he would say "Awww its so cute!!"

Later we went to the grocery store. He was sitting in the cart and every couple of minutes he would say "Stop Momma! Give a hug?" and give me a hug.

We stayed up late last night.....he tried on my glasses.

Let the wedding fun begin!

Saturday I hosted (along with the other bridemaids) a bridal shower for my sister. We took full advantage of the spring weather and decorated my deck. The theme of the shower was flowers, mostly Gerber Daisies.

Tiki Bar
The party favor was a flower pot with cute little flowers already planted. We also used the pots to decorate around the deck. Other decorations included mason jars with ribbons filled with candy (M&M-for Mandy and Matt), and dishes of "ring" pops. Also Gerber daisy tea light holders and string lights. After the party alot of people stayed and called their boyfriends or husbands to come over for leftovers and some cocktails on the deck. All and all I think everyone had a great time. Considering Travis went to bed at midnight, me at 1 am and the last guest left at 3 am I would say it was a success. We are ready for the BIG day!

The happy couple (notice the flower pots!)

Ring pops were a hit!
