He's 3!

Travis is 3! We had a party a couple of weeks ago and it was a blast. The theme was Monster Trucks and Travis got a trampoline, which he loves!! In honor of his birthday I decided to ask Travis what some of his favorite things. He answered all the questions that I asked and I loved his answers :) My thoughts in italics.

Twins???

Favorite Food: Macaroni and Cheese (this is a given. he orders mac and cheese at every restaurant and asks for it every night.)

Favorite Friend: Lanie and Maddie (two of his four cousins....I am sure this answer would change between the four girls daily if I asked him. )

Favorite Color: Black and Green (Travis loves when people ask him his favorite color. He also likes to know what other peoples favorite colors are)

Favorite Animal: Elephant (he loves elephants and has a little stuffed animal named Peanut)

Favorite Drink: Juice or Milk (He is not a water drinker at all)

Monster Truck Cake made by grandmom
Favorite Restaurant: McDonalds (Always try to suggest Chick fila but it never works)

Favorite Toy: Monster Trucks (I think we have all the monster trucks!)

Favorite Dog: Jakey ( his loyal companion)

Favorite Movie: Cars (although he is getting off the Cars kick lately and watching Rio)

Favorite TV Show: Dora (he watches Dora nightly)

Happy Bday 3 year old!
Favorite thing to do: Play monster trucks (he even got to go to Monster Jam with his daddy, boss, pop pop and mr chris)

How are you feeling?? HAPPY!!! (he tells me his feelings constantly, sad, happy, mad)

Favorite Car: Pizza Hut Car (??? not sure why he said this. I never have had pizza delivered and we never go to pizza hut??? So funny)

Favorite Monster Truck: Grave digger (he can name them all)

Who loves Travis?? Mommy, Daddy and Jakey! (yes we DO!)

Favorite thing to play outside: Cutting the grass (he loves "helping" Steve cut the grass with his little mower)

Favorite House: Debbie Ave (I was expecting him to say Grandmom's or Mandy's. I had no idea that he knew our street name)

I hope I remember to ask him the same questions every year :) :)

I want to remember......

- The way you call me "little lady" but it sounds like "widdle wady" when I ask you to hand me something you say "here you go widdle wady" in which I respond "thank you sir"

- The new freckles that are so light across your face you have to get really close to see. They look like cinnamon and sugar

- How excited you were to sleep in your new big boy bed until you realized that I would not be sleeping on the floor beside you.

- How you knock on our door frame every morning now and say "goooood morning! Can I come in?" and you jump into our bed

- How you compliment my outfits and tell me I look beautiful

- The way you tell me "no" when I do something out of the norm. "oh no no no no no no" not yelling just telling

- How you want to know what my favorite everything is....color, animal, food. Then when I answer you tell me I was wrong and inform me of my actual favorite color, animal or food.

-Your love of camping. You would go everyday if we could.

-How you and I went for ice cream and you told me "It was a nice night"

-How you can not only name all the monster trucks but you can also name thier drivers.

-How you ask me to be a "snuggle bunny" with you when you want me to hold and hug you.

- You as a 2 year old before you turn 3. 2 was fun.

Camping

To celebrate turning 30 (steve and i both) we bought a camper!

This weekend was our first time out. It was so much fun. We played outside all weekend and it did not even feel like camping since we were able to play inside too. Travis loved camping and even asked if we could go "lots of weekends."

February

I am def not the best blogger. Who has time for this? I need to make time though because I love the idea of remembering Travis childhood. I know I will look back on all of this one day with fondness. The weeks are flying by lately.

February is almost gone.....so what did we do this month? Potty trained was a main point of interest. If you think you talk about pee and poop with your spouse alot when you have a baby (trust me some days revolve around if a baby has pooped or not. LOL!) Wait until you potty train. Travis is doing really well with it. We end up having alot of weird conversations and scenario's though.....I will spare the details.

Valentines day was fun.  I had gotten Steve and Travis little gifts that I put out for them for when they woke up. That night we went out to dinner. I think Travis liked it. He keeps asking to go to the Valentine's Restaurant :)

Presidents day weekend we went to Ocean City. My parents and in laws went along with my nieces Dulanie and Brianna. We had a blast. The weather was mild and we played outside the whole time.

We also re-did Travis bedroom this month. Per his request it in now a Toys Story room.

Some funny conversations this month with Travis......

Me (holding a clear bag with frozen meatballs in it that I was making for dinner): "Travis I will be downstairs making dinner if you need me."
Travis: "Ok mommy what's for dinner that bag of poop?"

Me: " You have to learn your address in case you get lost. If you go lost what would you do? Where would you look for mommy?"
Travis: "At Target!"

Steve: (after Travis had an accident in this pull up): " You can not pee in the pull up it has to stay dry!"
Travis: "You are getting on my nerves Daddy."

Travis: "When I drive I am going to have black mustang!"
Me: "Will you drive me places? Will you take me to dinner?"
Travis:"Sure we go to Valentines dinner"
*I hope this comes true :)

We have also been receiving a lot of unexpected kisses from Travis those are the best. And he has been telling me I'm so pretty and he loves me soooooo much!

I love this age.

Weekend in Review: Snow Days

We started off this weekend with a trip to the mall. Travis needed his haircut because I can not stand it to even get a little bit long.

Saturday morning we woke up to snow. But not the good snow.....this was icy and just miserable. Steve was going to an Orioles pre season thing so Travis and I stayed inside all day long.....ugggh.. I am just so not used to staying home. I def had cabin fever around 8pm. Travis was not too impressed with the snow either. He told me "I don't like snow...I like elephants." Yup I would have to agree with you buddy but I cant say I understand the logic there :)  A few pictures from our snow day:

Way too cold for these boys...they ran out then back in quick

Playing on my "candle" AKA kindle

Angry Bird expect...we also bought some fun coloring games

He actually ate something other then mac and cheese....we were shocked!
Later Saturday night some neighbors came over. I was happy for the company.

Today my mom called me early and sounded just as desperate as I was to get out of the house. We took Travis to Storyville. Then to McDonalds for lunch. Then to Kohls and Target and Bill Batemans for dinner. It was nice to have something to do. LOL!

Travis is doing GREAT, WONDERFUL, AWESOME on the potty. We live and breathe potty up in here. He stays dry for most of the day with maybe two accidents in his pull up per day. He was even dry the whole time we were out shopping today. I am so proud of him. Def a bittersweet moment because it really does mean you have a big boy and not a baby. Travis is really into the whole potty thing. And today he was "tooting" and had to come tell me it was just toots and not poopy in his pull up. I said "oh ok toots are ok." Travis said " Big toots smell like poopy and little toots smell like poopy just like the big ones." The thoughts of a two year old boy, so insightful :)

Weekend in Review: Summer in January

WTH? We had the best weather this past weekend! Not that I am complaining just weird and totally unexpected. SIDENOTE: I always look up the weather channel.com at work. Then I click the 10 day forcast. The other day I was showing a co-worker the weather and he was like "umm you know that forecast is for December 10-20th." No I did not know that and how long had I been reading the same generic upper 40's forecast? HA!

Anyway, Friday night Steve, Travis and I ate dinner in front of the TV and watched Cars 2. Travis was so excited to be able to eat his pizza downstairs. And when the movie started and Steve was still upstairs Travis kept yelling "YOU GONNNA MISS IT DADDY!!!"

Saturday we had a birthday party at 2 but Travis and I were able to get a walk in while Steve worked on his parents car. We didnt even need coats! It was in the 60's.

Sunday, my parents and I took Travis to the zoo. It was half price the month of Jan and the weather was perfect. It was a little cooler then Saturday but we were comfortable. We stayed for about 3 hours and Travis lasted the whole time and even walked the entire time. His favorite animal is the elephant. He was so excited to see them. Sunday night we walked Rio and then played Candy Land. All in all it was a great weekend.

Travis Lately.....

Travis has been so easy lately. He is old enough to go upstairs and play by himself for hours. Sometimes he doesnt even want us to play with him and creates his own stories/scenarios with his cars. The other day he was upstairs and Steve and I had not heard a sound out of him for awhile. Steve went upstairs and found him asleep in his lighting mcqueen tent he got for Christmas. He had put his pillow pet and blanket in there also. So funny and cute! He really loves that tent.

We have been working on potty training since Saturday. Travis is doing great!! Much better then ever before. He still does not tell us that he has to go but he will go everytime we sit him on the potty. I told him I am not taking diapers with us to Myrtle Beach. He really wants to go with his cousins so I think I scared him into going to the potty. Plus he gets a sticker and a treat everytime he goes. I counted all the stickers tonight and he has 13 since Sunday!! Woo Hooo!! I am really excited with his progress. Maybe no more diapers by Feb?

My Aunt gave Steve this funny leggo man flashlight as a gag Christmas gift. Travis insisted on wearing it the other night while we made cupcakes so he could "see."

The other night I put Travis in his Penguin PJs that he wore on Christmas Eve. He woke up the next morning yelling "SANTA CAME!!!!" I came in his room and told him that is was not christmas. He looked so sad and said "But I wear my Christmas jammies" :/ Poor guy guess we are not wearing them anymore.
