Weekend in Review: Father's Day Weekend

We had a great father's day weekend! Travis is finally feeling better although I still do not think he is 100%. Friday night we took a bike ride around the neighborhood. Aunt Mandy and Uncle Matt came over to visit and play toys. We also looked up so possible vacation ideas...maybe Sandals in Bahamas? Not sure yet but we want to plan an adult only all inclusive trip.

Saturday we went to my neighbors pool club. Travis carried the cooler for me ;) He was excited to go.

My next door neighbors think Travis is their baby doll. We had alot of fun playing at the pool with them.

My other neighbor was also there with her niece Emma. Emma is 3 months older then Travis. They play together great!

The pool was super nice. It is right on the water and has a baby pool and swings. It is only $180 to join for the summer. I think I will join next summer. Saturday night I stayed in and watched a movie....well the movie watched me sleep. I was exhausted.

Sunday was Fathers Day. Steve had softball in the morning, so Travis and I play with his Play-Doh kit Aunt Mandy and Uncle Matt got him. It was fun and messy ;)

I can not convince this boy to leave his sunglasses on!!

Travis and his daddy on Fathers Day 2011.

We headed over to my inlaws to swim for the afternoon. Except I only brought my bathing suit top....not sure what I was thinking. So Travis swam :/

After swimming we met my family at TGIFridays for dinner. All in all a good weekend.

Tired Thursday

This past week has been insanely busy. Last night I went to the Katy Perry Concert with some girlfriends. It was a great concert!! She is a performer! There were dancers, costume changes, stunts. It was entertaining.

My buddy Travis had his two year old dr appointment. He is 33 pounds and 37 inches. So basically off the chart for a two year old. Poor guy has a stomach bug. So we have been laying low....playing with new birthday toys. He loves this motorcyle. Just hasn't figured out how to ride it.....

The water table is still a huge hit. We have been playing boats and cars in the water table all week.

I had to modify Travis' diet until his stomach gets better. So it has been bananas, crackers, apple sauce, rice cereal and chicken noodle soap. No dairy. I am hoping this is the last day of the bug. In the case below it is crackers dipped in apple sauce.

I am so ready for the weekend. I have not talked to my husband in days. We have been that busy. And I am looking forward to some much needed sleep.

24 Months

Dear Travis,

This past weekend you turned 2. That means for the past 24 months you have been mine, making me laugh, smile and work harder then I've ever had to work in my life. You are shaping up to be a pretty great guy. You have a sense of humor and know how to make a joke. You will pretend to cry or be hurt and then yell "Just Kidding!!!"

You are also a nice person. You are concerned about other peoples feelings and will ask "You ok?" if someone falls or says "ouch!" You love mommy and daddy but you love your dog Jake the most! Poor Jake! You have to touch him constantly and you are always patting him on the head telling him he is a "good boy." If Jake is not in the room with you, you will ask "Where's Jake?" and call for him. And sometimes when we are out you will say "I go home and see Jakey." You miss him.

You are learning something new everyday. You are talking like nobodies business. You refer to yourself in third person "Twav go outside?" "Twav eat teddy bear cookies?" You know when to say please and thank you. Sometimes you say 'Thank you' and then 'Your Welcome' in a different, more high pitched voice. You also repeat everything that we say. If we ask you a question, instead of an answer you just repeat the question. You copy Daddy's actions constantly. If daddy crosses his legs, you cross yours.

You love playing with other kids and (un) fortunately you are surrounded by girls. All your cousins are girls and so are all your neighbors. You are ok with sharing but I think you do great since you are an only child. You love to go over to Pop Pop's house and play with the girls. Sometimes you will demand that I take you over there. They have all the good toys and snacks :)

You are the best at traveling/shopping/eating out (if the food comes fast). This past week you asked if you could get out of the shopping cart. I said yes as long as you stayed with me and Aunt Mandy. And told me ok and you kept your word. If you ran off we would yell for you and you would come running over screaming 'Ok Mandy! Ok Mommy!'

You don't give me a hard time and barely have tantrums. You are able to compromise and tell me exactly what you want. On Sunday I told you "Thanks for being the best baby ever!" And you answered "Ok Momma, your welcome!"

We had your big birthday party last Saturday. You did amazing. You played. You thanked everyone. You were excited. I hope you remember how special that day was. The next 12 months are going to be perfect

Happy Birthday Twav!
Love ,
Momma

Weekend in Review: It feels like summer!

YAY!! It feels like summer now. I LOVE IT!!! Last weekend was wonderful. I had Travis basically all weekend to myself. Steve was out crabbing and playing the 100 sports that he plays on weekends. I had to work late on Friday but when I finally made it home I decided to take Travis to the park for a couple of hours. I had fun chasing him around and he made me go down the slides with him. He is very demanding. ;)

There is a pond at the park and we were on the prowl for ducks. We didn't see any but we kept hearing a "HONK HONK" goose noise. We walked around the other side of the pond to see if there were any geese and that is when something jumped out of the marsh grass. I have no idea what it was but I screamed so loud. Travis laughed at me and kept asking "You scared?"  Yes. Actually I was. HA!

After the playground we went home and there were firetrucks across the street from our house. Travis could not believe his luck!!! In the excitement to look at the trucks I ran out the front door and locked it behind me :( My mother in law had to come let us in. (Steve was about 40 mins away at his cousins house). *The firetruck/ambulance were there because my neighbor electrocuted himself he is OK!

Saturday Steve went crabbing all morning so Travis and I headed to the pool after running a few errands. It was so nice because he can basically play in the baby pool by himself and I can sit there with my feet in the water and get my tan on! First year ever that I am not half hunched over holding his hand for an hour at a time. My little fish swam all day. Then we went to my inlaws to eat the crabs that daddy caught. YUM!

Sunday was another pool day. Both days resulted in below:

I also made (with the help of my mom) these goodie bags for Travis' cowboy themed bday party this Saturday. Can't believe he is turning 2!!

My sister is coming home today and I can't wait to hear all about her trip!

I love my neighbors!

I really love all my neighbors. We all have so much fun together and there is always someone to hang out with. Last night we got crabs. Thursday night is $1 crab night at the local crab house. Everyone came over and sat on our deck to eat until we were tired of picking! We ended up getting 45 crabs. I think I ate about 9. Travis was so confused about the fact that we were going to 'eat' crabs.

Dan and Steve were kind of the last men standing!

They were not the biggest crabs ever but they were very tasty!!

This is the first summer since I had Travis that I was actually able to sit and eat crabs. Travis played the whole time...with the mallets, and the sandbox, and the dog. So nice and relaxing!!! I know this summer is going to be the best yet!

After crabs we hit our new favorite Ice Cream Shop, By the Scoop! Awesome homemade ice cream. I got a scoop of Twix and a scoop of Cookie Monster. The boys had to buy coke in the glass bottles.....

Poor Travis fell asleep on the way there. I had to wake him up to eat his ice cream. He was confused about what was actually going on. LOL! He woke up though and finished his entire icecream.

On the way home we all danced. HA! Steve was playing some good dance music in the truck. Even Travis was dancing and singing along.

I know where I live is not going to last forever.....we are going to start moving as most people that live there bought the houses as 'starter' homes. And my sister (who is in Jamaica on her honeymoon) is probably going to buy instead of rent. But I really do love where I live and I LOVE summer nights on my street.
